Word of Welcome Thank-you for your interest in DKL Consulting Project Management

DKL Consulting Project Management is totally different from other PM consultants. We work for you, on your behalf, in your behalf, between you and the consultants doing your project, we are your 'White Hat". We work for mainly SMB's who do not have the manpower or expertise to do a software implementation or hardware upgrade and need someone to lookout for their best interest. DKL Consulting does all the background checks and becomes your right-hand throughout the project. We watch the budget, schedule, scope, change management and any other factors you want watched and reported on. We are totally independent and have no ties to suppliers, we have a list of trusted suppliers who we have worked with before and know what we expect from them, in way of services.

DKL Consulting just finished a major SAP B1 project in Victoria BC, most take 6 months or more, usually over budget, we rolled it out on a 3 month time frame, on budget using our Best Practice Method. Being the companies 'White Hat' on the project we were able to see the total project and could control were the time and money where spend.

What is Project Management:

it is the discipline of organizing and managing resources in such a way that these resources deliver all the work required to complete a project within defined scope, time, and cost constraints. A project is a temporary and one-time endeavour undertaken to create a unique product or service. This property of being a temporary and a one-time undertaking contrasts with processes, or operations, which are permanent or semi-permanent ongoing functional work to create the same product or service over-and-over again
Before your company launches its next package selection, implementation or upgrade, make sure you don’t cripple the project from the start by failing to identify your requirements – the number one reason that projects spin out of control. Out of every 100 IT projects started, 94 will start over again at least once. Before your company launches its next package selection, implementation or upgrade, make sure you don’t cripple the project from the start by failing to identify your requirements – the number one reason that projects spin out of control.

Make sure that your company has a clear understanding of how important the requirements definition stage is, has a proven way to carry it out properly, and doesn’t skip this critical phase. The later in the system development life-cycle that major errors are discovered the more expensive it is to fix them. But the earliest stages of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) are most often the least consistently executed.

I use the Best Practice method which is a management idea which asserts that there is a technique, method, process, activity, incentive or reward that is more effective at delivering a particular outcome than any other technique, method, process, etc. The idea is that with proper processes, checks, and testing, a project can be rolled out and completed with fewer problems and unforeseen complications.
